In my opinion, Home Alone  is the most known New Year's film. I think everybody watched it and not once.

There are 5 parts of this New Year's comedy! But I like the two first parts, because in the following parts actors change.

Let's remember actors. Roles were played by (1 & 2 pats):

Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister

Joe Pesci as Harry

Daniel Stern as Marv

John Heard as Peter McCallister

Catherine O'Hara as Kate McCallister

Do you know?  Picture The Scream (Edvard Munch, 1893) is prototype of the main emblem of the movie. In Russia this movie is shown every year by more than 20 years!!!

And will You watch Home Alone this year?

Today, I want to tell you not about New Year's and Christmas movies and songs. I would like to tell you about my interesting find. This is Ryan Adams' album 1989.

1989 is the fifteenth studio album by this American singer-songwriter, released on September 21, 2015. The album is a track-by-track cover of Taylor Swift's 1989.

I like an original album by Taylor Swift. It is one of my most favourite albums. But I like new execution 1989 by Ryan Adams. I fell in love in this new sounding. It's so cool! I recommend to listen this playlist.

Let's get acquainted with Christmas carols

A Christmas carol is a song whose lyrics are on the theme of Christmas. People sing them at night.

Start with... God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen is an English traditional Christmas carol. It is one of the oldest extant carols, dated to the 16th century or earlier. The earliest known printed edition of the carol is in a broadsheet dated to 1760.

"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is a Christmas carol. The original hymn was composed as a "Hymn for Christmas-Day" by Charles Wesley in 1739. Wesley's original hymn began with the opening line "Hark how all the Welkin rings." This was changed to the familiar "Hark! the Herald Angels sing" by George Whitefield in 1754. A second change was made in the 1782 publication of the Tate and Brady New version of the Psalms of David.

In my opinion, this music is very similar to the Russian church chants.

Do you remember the most popular Russian New Year's songs?

Start with The forest raised a Christmas tree This is a famous children's New Year song. It was written by Raisa Kudasheva and composed by Leo Beckmann in 1903. This song is known to everybody! I played it on a bayan, when studied in 1 class of music school. This cool song was 112 years old!

«Маленькой елочке холодно зимой» was written by Zinaida Aleksandrova in 1931. Music was composed by Mikhail Krasev in 1935. I played this song on a bayan too. Look the full poem:
